NYSC CAUTIONS CORPS MEMBERS IN EBONYI AGAINST ANTI-SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR

Eight hundred and forty-eight 2022 Batch ‘C’ Stream II National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members have been deployed to Ebonyi State for their three weeks orientation course.

At their swearing in ceremony at the Permanent Orientation Camp Afikpo, the Acting Director General of the Scheme, Mrs. Christy Uba commended the corps members for their patriotic disposition to serve their father land.

Mrs. Uba, who was represented by the State Coordinator of the Scheme, Mrs. Bamai Mercy, observed that the major objective of NYSC was to promote national unity and integration.

She noted that their deployment to the state would offer them broader understanding of the country with the aim of having a shared vision of a prosperous Nigeria.

Mrs. Uba tasked the corps members to distance themselves from cultism, drug abuse and other social vices,.

She urged them to take advantage of the course to equip themselves with skills that would make them to be self reliant after the service year.

The Acting Director General appealed to the stakeholders to support the call for the establishment of NYSC Trust Fund, which she said was already awaiting Presidential assent.

Some of the corps members said they were pleased to have been deployed to the state, indicating their readiness to contribute their quota to the development of the country.
