OIL TANKER CRASHES, GOES UP IN FLAMES IN ANAMBRA

A tanker laden with oil on Tuesday went up in flames after it crashed in a lone accident at Immigration Junction today by Awka-Enugu Expressway in Anambra State.
The Public Education Officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in the state, Mrs. Margaret Onabe, attributed the crash to overspeeding.
According to Mrs. Onabe, an eyewitness said that the tanker was on speed, lost control while trying to turn at the junction before it crashed and went up in flames.
She said two male adults were involved in the crash and no death or injury was recorded.
Meanwhile, the driver of the the tanker with no registration number has not been identified.
Mrs. Onabe said the FRSC rescue team from RS5.3 was on ground managing traffic while the Fire Service personnel were also around to extinguish the fire.
Mrs. Onabe said the Sector Commander, Mr. Commander Adeoye Irelewuyi warned motorists to desist from overspeeding and observe recommended speed limits.
