ANAMBRA ASSEMBLY SEEKS REPAIR OF UMUEZEANAM—OROMAETITI ROAD
REPORTER: KEVIN EKEDIEGWU
Anambra State House of Assembly has appealed to Governor Charles Soludo to direct the Commissioner for Works, Mr. Ifeanyi Okoma, to urgently rehabilitate Umuezeanam-Oromaetiti road in Anambra West Local Government Area of the state.
The lawmaker representing Anambra West Constituency, Mr. Patrick Udeoba, made the appeal in a motion of urgent Public importance during the plenary in Awka.
Mr. Udeoba, who said the road was cut-off by flood, lamented that his people could no longer access their homes as well as their farm lands.
He explained that the area was one of the food baskets of the state and was recently submerged by flood.
Mr. Udeoba pointed out that the road led to more than ten communities in the area.
In a contribution, the Deputy Speaker of the House, Dr. Paschal Agbodike, was of the view that Governor Soludo would carry out a palliative measure on the road because of its importance to the state.
Similarly, the Speaker of the House, Mr. Uche Okafor, said Governor Soludo had been trying all he could to fix some of the bad roads in the state and expressed confidence that he would fix the road in no distance time.
