NSCDC PLEDGES COLLABORATION WITH NIG CORRECTIONAL SERVICE IN ANAMBRA

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Anambra State has called for the strengthening of the existing working relationship among security agencies to improve internal security of the area.

The New Commandant of the Corps in the state, Mr. Chukwudi Chikere, made the call in his familiarization tour of the Nigeria Correctional Service in Awka.

A statement by the Public Relations Officer of the Corps in the state, Mr. Edwin Okadigbo, said that the new Commandant expressed readiness to collaborate with the Service to beef up security around custodial centres in the state.

The statement explained that the purpose of Mr. Chikere’s visit was to familiarize himself with the Service and also to enhance and consolidate on the already existing relationship between the two sister security agencies in the state.

According to the statement, the new Commandant pledged his unflinching support in intelligence sharing and the provision of operational support to the service.

Responding, the Comptroller of the Service, Mr. Pat. Chukwuemeka, thanked the new NSCDC state Commandant for the visit and emphasized the need for the two services to collaborate more in the smooth operation of an efficient justice system in the state.
