About one thousand Batch B Stream One National Youths Service Corps (NYSC) members deployed to Imo State in 2021 have successfully completed their service.

At the passing out ceremony held in Owerri, the State Governor, Chief Hope Uzodimma, extolled the youth for their positive contributions towards the successes recorded so far by his administration.

He urged them to sustain the unity of the nation wherever they found themselves, noting that the NYSC had since inception continued to foster national integration.

Governor Uzodimma, who was represented by the Commissioner for Youths and Sports Development, Mr. Dan Ogu, advised the former corps members to take advantage of the skills acquired during the service to better their lots.

The State Coordinator of the NYSC, Mrs. Rachel Idaewor, said reports from the twenty-seven local government areas of Imo State indicated that the youths discharged their duties creditably in line with the dictates of the scheme.

She commended the state government for its support to the NYSC and gave an assurance that the national youth service corps members would continue to impact the lives of their host communities positively.
