GO GET YOUR PVC FOR 2023 GENERAL ELECTION — GOV IKPEAZU BEGS ABIA RESIDENTS

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State has called on residents of state, who are yet to obtain their Permanent Voters Cards to do so before the end of the time alloted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the exercise.
Governor Ikpeazu made this call in a message to a one day zonal training of youths and women from Abia Central Senatorial District on voter registration in Umuahia, the state capital.
The Governor represented by Commissioner for Documentation and Communication, Mr. Ugochukwu Emezue, said his administration would not rest its oars to provide adequate security to guarantee a peaceful election in the state come 2023.
In another message, the Director General National Orientation Agency (NOA), Mr. Garba Abari, represented by the NOA Director Anambra State, Mr. Charles Nwaorji, expressed the need for continuous citizen’s engagment to reassure them of government’s determination to deepen democracy in the country.
The NOA Director in Abia State, Dr. Ngozi Okechukwu, said that the programme was aimed at making timely and reliable information on 2023 general election available and accessible to all contituents.
The Resident Electoral Commissioner, INEC, Abia State, Dr. Joseph Iloh, in his message assured the electorate of the commission’s readiness to conduct credible and peaceful election in the state by 2023.
The Senator representing Abia Central, Senator Theodore Orji, represented by Mr. Longman Nwachukwu, urged the people to take apply the knowledge they acquired from the programme as well as ensure that they obtained their PVC inorder to vote the right candidate into power.
Some of the participants interviewed by Radio Nigeria commended the National Orientation Agency and the Senator Representing Abia Central District for organizing the programme and promise to put into practice what they have learnt.
The theme of the training is “Engaging Youths and Women on Effective Voter Participation for Increased Voter Enrolment and Peaceful Elections.”
