IAAF Confirms Emelieze’s Switch To Germany
The International Association of Athletics Federation (IAAF) has confirmed the switch of allegiance from Nigeria to Germany of sprinter Peter Oti Emelieze.
Emelieze represented Nigeria at both the junior and senior levels, going as far as the semi-finals of the 60m event at the 18th and 19th IAAF World Indoor Championship in Doha (2010) and Turkey (2012).
The IAAF also granted the wish of USA born Nigerian, Chidi Okezie to represent his country of origin. Okezie’s transfer of allegiance from USA to Nigeria took effect from March 15, 2016 and has already raced for Nigeria at the last IAAF World Indoor Championship in Portland Oregon, USA.
