NSCDC PLEDGES COMMITMENT TOWARDS PROTECTING CRITICAL NATIONAL ASSETS IN ABIA

The Commandant Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), Abia State, Command, Mr. Ayinla Olowo, says the corps will continue to work closely with relevant agencies in providing care to internally displaced persons and refugees arising from the devastating effects of COVID-19 pandemic.
Mr. Olowo stated this on the occasion of the 2022 International Civil Defense Organization Day in Umuahia.
He noted that the Day was set aside to raise awareness on disaster preventive measures and the preparedness for self protection in the event of accidents.
Mr. Olowo maintained that the corps was committed to the protection of lives and critical National Assets and Infrastructure of government.
He pointed out that the peace and conflict resolutions unit of the Corps had been strengthened to resolve issues between and amongst willing parties, thereby preventing conflicts from snowballing into avoidable conflagration.
Highlight of the event was a free medical treatment to people by the corps.
