GUNMEN KILL 3 POLICEMEN IN EBONYI

Three police officers have been shot dead in Ezilo axis of Enugu-Abakaliki Expressway in Ebonyi State.
Investigations revealed that the three slain police officers were on duty at a checkpoint in Ezilo axis of Enugu-Abakaliki Expressway located at the front of Ishielu Divisional Police Station when the gunmen struck.
It was gathered that the gunmen operated with a commercial bus with speculation that the police officers could have mistaken them for commuters.
As at the time of filing this report, Ebonyi State Police Command was yet to come up with official reaction to the attack but it was gathered that the remains of the policemen had been deposited in a mortuary.
