NIGERIA NEEDS PRICE REGULATION AGENCY — ANALYST BEGS GOVT
REPORTER: UCHE NDEKE
A Public Affairs Commentator, Comrade Obi Ochije, has called on the Federal Government to come up with policies that will address the economic hardship being experienced by the people before considering the removal of fuel subsidy.
Speaking with Radio Nigeria in Awka on the recent suspension of removal of fuel subsidy by the Federal Government, Comrade Ochije, commended President Muhamadu Buhari for giving a listening ear to the yearnings and cries of the people at this critical moment.
He suggested need to set up a committee to ensure that prices of goods and services were reduced within the eighteen months window set by the government to reconsider the removal of the fuel subsidy.
Comrade Ochije expressed regret that the absence of a price control board had become a great challenge as traders kept increasing cost of their goods and services without any caution and clear cut considerations.
The public affairs commentator, however, commended the Governor Willie Obiano led administration in Anambra State for its developmental strides and expressed the hope that the Governor elect, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, would do more, especially with his economic orientation and intellectual ability.
