53 TRADITIONAL RULERS RECEIVE STAFF OF OFFICE IN IMO

Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, has presented staff of office to 53 traditional rulers in the state.

Governor Uzodimma, who made the presentation at the Government House, Owerri, charged them to be magnanimous, truthful and dispense Justice with the fear of God.

Senator Uzodimma urged the royal fathers to take seriously the security of their community as their primary assignment and search diligently to flush out criminal bunks.

He reminded them that the traditional stool is scared and one must have the knowledge of tradition and culture of their land.

Governor Uzodimma warned that the government would not hesitate to remove any traditional ruler who did not operate from his palace.

He called on them to work in synergy with town union presidents, ward leaders, local government and the state government.

Responding on behalf of other royal fathers, the traditional ruler of Umuhu Autonnomous Community in Oru East Local Government Area, Eze Ikechukwu Okonkwo, thanked the Governor for the opportunity to serve and assured him that they would strive to ensure peace in their various communities.
