SENATE PRESIDENT INAUGURATES AUTOMATED SHOE FACTORY IN ABA

Nigerians have been urged to always ensure that they patronize made in Nigeria products.
The President of the Senate, Dr. Ahmed Lawan, stated this while inaugurating the Enyimba Automated Shoe Company in Aba, Abia State.
The President of the Senate noted that for the country to progress, Nigerians must embark on massive import substitution of goods and products by embracing locally made products.
Dr. Lawan commended Governor Okezie Ikpeazu for what he described as prudent management of the state resources.
He assured the Governor that Federal Government would support Abia State Government for the success of the project.
Governor Ikpeazu, in a remark, commended President Muhammadu Buhari for the inauguration of the Ariaria Market Independent Power Plant, which had assisted in steady power supply to the shoe industry and other factories in the area.
The Governor pointed out that as part of efforts to encourage the youth in skills acquisition, his administration had sent thirty young people of the state to China to learn more on shoe making.
The Chairman, Enyimba Automated Shoe Company, Mr. Mac Atasie, while going down memory lane of the establishment of the industry, said that over four thousand shoes were being produce daily in the shoe factory.
He listed Military boots, Children footwears and various leather shoes for men and women as some of the shoes being produced in the factory.
