POLICE RAID HOTEL, ARREST 40 AS FEMALE SUSPECTS ACCUSE OFFICERS OF SEXUAL MOLESTATION
No fewer than 30
men and 10 women were, yesterday, arrested in a hotel at Ogidi, Idemili North Local Government Area, Anambra State, by the Nnewi-Ichi command of the Special Anti Robbery Squad, SARS, of Anambra State Police Command.
It wasgathered that the SARS operatives, acting on a tip-off that criminals lodge there, stormed the place at about 9.00p.m. to make the arrests.
The police claimed also that weeds suspected to be Indian hemp were recovered during the
raid, while some female suspects accused the SARS operatives of dehumanizing them and not having respect for womanhood by not allowing them to dress up and also beating, exposing and allegedly inserting their fingers in their private parts.
Some of the suspects were later granted bail.
