NSCDC PROMOTES 46 OFFICERS IN ENUGU WITH CHARGE TO TACKLE INSECURITY

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, (NSCDC), Enugu State Command, has decorated forty-six newly promoted officers with their new ranks.

Addressing the Officers after the ceremony in Enugu, the Commandant, NSCDC, Enugu State Command, Mr. Afrika Ezenyimuru, urged the officers to brace-up with challenges of the time in dealing with any form of security threat.

Mr. Ezenyimuru said the corps expected nothing more than commitment to duty from the officers while discharging their constitutional responsibilities.

“Security situation in the is becoming too precarious, so I charged them to be security conscious, and I made them to understand that security is everybody’s business particularly those that are trained and being paid with tax payers money to do that. They have to leave no stone unturned to really get this job done,” the NSCDC Commandant stated.

He explained that the promotion was in recognition of their hard work and urged them to imbibe the culture of mutual relationship with communities to gather intelligence information on suspected miscreants.

Two of the officers promoted to the rank of Chief Superintendent of Corps, Mr. John Okorie and Mrs. Chiamaka Nwagu, expressed gratitude to the Commandant General of the Corps for the elevation and promised to give in their best.

The event was attended by Heads of Security Agencies in the State and the Archbishop of Enugu Ecclesiastical Province, Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, the Most Reverend Emmanuel Chukwuma.
