ABIA NDE, EMBARKS ON GRADUATE COACHING SCHEME

NDEThe National Directorate of Employment Abia state has embarked on the training of over fifty youths on graduate coaching scheme.

Speaking on the occasion in Umuahia,the coordinator NDE in Abia state, Mrs Buchi Ojei said that the programme was designed to assist youths in acquiring the basic qualification for admission into tertiary institutions in the country.

She noted that the programme which would cover various aspects of learning and teaching would last for three months.

“This is the graduate coaching scheme under the special public works programme. Here, we are training 50 people who have attempted school certificate and they did not either make it or that they failed some subjects. So NDE is coaching them to be able to attempt a second one and then be able to pass.”

The NDE Boss in the state said that the Directorate was also organizing a community based training in Umuobiakwa in Obingwa local government area were over fifty women would be trained in various skills like Hair dressing, Photography, Cosmetology and  GSM repairs.

Also speaking, the Head Public Works Department in the Directorate Mr Uzoma Onuoha stated that the students would be taught various subjects and urged them to take the tutorial seriously.

Some of the Participants of the programme, Miss Victoria Ugwuadi and Mr. Godwin Ebere commended NDE for organizing the programme and pledged to put in their best while the training last.
