FIRE DESTROYS PART OF SAM MBAKWE AIRPORT
Fire Monday gutted a section of the Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport Owerri.
The cause of the inferno, which raged the arrival lounge of the airport, is yet to be determined as at the time of filing this report.
Eye witnesses told Radio Nigeria that the fire forced staff and passengers to scamper for safety.
An Airport staff, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the fire affected equipment at the arrival hall, which is being renovated.
The fire was said to have lasted for about forty five minutes before the combined efforts of fire fighters and staff of the airport arrested the situation
