Voting in progress in Imo state

Accreditation and voting have commenced in some polling units in Imo state after initial hiccups that delayed the process.
At ogboko ward 2 in ideato south where Governor Rochas okorocha is expected to cast his vote, voting commenced around nine o’clock in the morning. When correspondent Chinazo Ilechukwu got to the area around ten o’clock the exercising was going on peacefully .
There is impressive turn out of voters. Party agents and observers who spoke with Radio Nigeria expressed satisfaction as no incident of smart card reader failure has been reported.
At Holy Trinity Catholic Church Awaka in Owerri North LGA when Radio Nigeria visited a polling unit located inside the area around half past nine o’clock in the morning accreditation and voting were going on simultaneously and the people conducted themselves in an orderly manner.
Similarly at okoro okoroduruaka booth 001 umuchima ward in Ideato south voting was in progress seamlessly as at ten o’clock in the morning.
Meanwhile materials are yet to arrive at some polling units in Aladimma area in Owerri municipal council as at ten o’clock in the morning. The situation has led some prospective voters who came out in their numbers to express disappointment.
The Public Relations Officer of INEC in Imo state Mrs Emmanuella Opara while reacting to the development said the commission was working hard to address the situation.
