ENUGU WORKING COMMITTEE OF NUJ DISSOCIATES ITSELF FROM ELECTION OF EXECUTIVE COUNCIL OF THE UNION

The Enugu State Working Committee of the Nigeria Union of Journalists has dissociated itself from alleged election/nomination of some persons into the executive council of the union in the State.

A statement by the Chairman, NUJ, FRCN, Chapel, Mr. Emeka Anyalebechi, the Chairman, NUJ, NTA Chapel, Mr. James Okpalaekeocha and Secretary Correspondent Chapel, Mr. Chinedu Adona among others notes that the chapels that make                                                                                 up the State Council were not informed of the election which was allegedly held yesterday, the twentieth of February 2019.

The statement while urging the public to disregard the alleged election called on the National Secretariat of the Union to desist from fueling the crisis in the South East, especially in the Enugu State council.

The statement further appeals to various chapels to remain calm as the State Working Committee has taken over leadership of the council following the expiration of the State Council Executive on February eleven, 2019.
