ACUTE FUEL SCARCITY HITS ENUGU AS IPMAN BEGINS STRIKE

People living in Enugu Metropolis Tuesday morning witnessed closure of filling stations as they were not dispensing petroleum products to the public.

Radio Nigeria correspondent who monitored the situation observed that petroleum products such as petrol, diesel and kerosene were available but filling stations remained closed.

In an interview, a manager in one of the filling stations visited who spoke on condition of anonymity, claimed that they were acting on directives by the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association (IPMAN), which was said to be on strike.

He however, said that he did not know the reason for the strike, stating that the situation might not change until they got a further directive to act otherwise

Also speaking on the matter, a driver and a passenger in a vehicle on queue for petrol complained that they had stayed long and described the situation as unpleasant

The story was the same in all other filling stations visited around the metropolis.
