2019: INEC IN IMO STATE BEGINS TRAINING OF NYSC ELECTON ADHOC STAFF
The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC says it has commenced training of National Youth Service Corps members that will serve as ad hoc staff in next year’s elections in Imo State.
The Administrative Secretary of the Commission in the State, Mr. Tom Ongele, made this known during a stakeholders meeting in Owerri.
He explained that INEC had upgraded card readers that would be used for the elections to ensure greater efficiency.
Mr. Ongele gave an assurance that the machines would be used to record and transmit results from polling booths to collation centres to check alteration of results.
According to him, the commission will no longer use Local Government headquarters as collation centres to avoid undue interference by government officials.
