CHRISTIANS URGED TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE FEAST OF ALL SOULS TO PRAY FOR NIGERIA

Christians are urged to take advantage of the feast of All Souls to intensify their efforts towards praying for God’s mercy on the souls of the dead and intervention on the country.

The Catholic Bishop of Enugu Diocese, Most Reverend Callistus Onaga gave the advice during a special church service to mark the annual feast of all souls at the Holy Ghost Cathedral Ogui Enugu.

According to him, the solemn commemoration of the dead is observed on second November every year to offer prayers to the suffering souls and bring happiness to them.

Stressing the need to celebrate three masses in various parishes and people using the month of November to pray seriously for their loved ones, Bishop Onaga advised everyone to have implicit faith in God especially in time of difficulties.

He also laid emphasis on forgiving one another, applying self control in dealing with people and remaining in good terms with God always.

The mass of the dead featured special prayers in atonement for their sins and peace in Nigeria.
