2019 ELECTION – CORPS MEMBERS URGED TO ADVANCE THE NATION’S DEMOCRACY

As the 2019 general election draws nearer, corps members serving in Enugu State have been urged to avail themselves of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, training.

In a message to the swearing in ceremony of the Corps members at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp Awgu, the State Governor, Chief Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi explained that the corps members would be trained as electoral officers.

The Governor who was represented by his Special Adviser on Special Duties, Mr. Uwakwe Azikiwe admonished them to use the knowledge gained during the training at the appropriate time to advance the nation’s democracy.

The NYSC State Coordinator, Chief Amed Wada Ikaka, who said that  a total number of  two thousand, four hundred and five Corps members were registered, reminded the Governor of his promise to restore electricity and rehabilitate the access road in the Orientation camp. Two Corps members who were in high spirit for being part of the exercise, pledged to be dedicated to activities in the camp.

The representative of the State Chief Judge, Justice Anthony Onovo who administered the oath of allegiance on the corps members urged them to be law abiding.
