STAKEHOLDERS MEETING: UZODIMMA BEGS IMO RESIDENTS NOT TO JOIN NATIONAL PROTEST

Ahead of the planned nationwide protest, Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, has urged people of the state to guide jealously the democratic environment.

Speaking at a stakeholders meeting held in Owerri the state capital, Senator Uzodimma stressed that destruction of lives and property would heightened hardship in the country.

The Governor, who acknowledged the current hardship in the country, advised the citizens to stop killing innocent Nigerians in the name of politics.

He called on the people not to allow themselves to be used to cause mayhem, noting that what the state needed now was power to unlock the revenue fortune.

He explained that in the next quarter of the year, Orashi Electricity Company would start functioning as the Federal Government had granted energy free zone to Orashi and Ngokpola.

Governor Uzodimma announced that president Bola Tinubu hadvsupplied one truck load of rice to each local government with additional ten trucks of fertilizer for farmers to boost food production.

The Governor said there would be no going back in the upcoming local government election.

He called on the opinion leaders at the various electoral wards to compile four hundred names who would be receiving state government stipends.

The Governor announced that the state government had mapped out twenty billion naira to restore moribond industries and revoke all undeveloped land in the industrial area.

The meeting was attended by members of the state executive council, traditional rulers, religious leaders captains of industry women and youths organizations.
