SOLUDO SWEARS-IN NEW LG TRANSITION CHAIRMEN IN ANAMBRA

Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has sworn-in the newly appointed Transition Committee Chairmen of the 21 local government areas of the state.

The swearing-in was sequel to the confirmation of their appointment by the Anambra State House of Assembly in line with Section 208 of the Local Government Law, 1999 as amended, as requested by Governor Chukwuma Soludo.

During the event at the Government House, Awka, Governor Soludo congratulated the new chairmen and charged them to be focused on their huge assignments in spite of the minimal resources at their disposal.

The Governor expressed his administration’s determination to ensure transparency and accountability in the service of the people

He assured residents of the state of a local government devoted to service delivery to the grassroots.

In a remark, the Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Community Affairs, Mr. Tony-Collins Nwabunwanne, while introducing the newly appointed Chairmen, extolled the Governor for his pragmatic approach to running the local government system.

He claimed that the Transition Committee Chairmen had gone through thorough screening and were found worthy.

In a reaction on behalf of his colleagues, the Transition Committee Chairman, Aguata Local Government Area, Dr. Chibueze Oforbuike, thanked the Governor for finding them worthy to serve in his administration.

He promised that the Chairmen would deliver on their assignments.

The newly sworn-in chairmen include, Ifeanyi Chiweze (Anambra East), Fidelis Nnazo (Anambra West), Romanus Ibekwe (Anaocha) Chinedu Okafor (Awka South), Alphonsus Ofumele (Ayamelum), Chijioke Ozumba (Dunukofia) and Stanley Nkwoka (Idemili North).

Others are Chinedu Ononiba (Njikoka), Val Ezeogidi (Nnewi South), Franklin Nwadialo (Ogbaru), Anthony Nwora (Onitsha North), Casmir Nwafor (Orumba North) and Shedrack Azubuike (Orumba South).

The remaining eight TC Chairman were re-appointed and they included, Chibuike Ofobuike (Aguata), Thankgod Aniagor (Awka North), Amaka Obi (Idemili South), Emeka Orji (Onitsha South), Anayo Orjiakor (Ihiala), Chris Obiora (Nnewi North) Chimezie Obi (Ekwusigo) and Emma Nweke Jim (Oyi).
