SOLUDO SIGNS REVISED BUDGET INTO LAW

Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has signed the 2022 Revised Budget into law.

Professor Soludo while signing the bill at Government House, Awka said that the budget was designed to reflect current realities, challenges and priorities of the new administration.

The budget tagged, “taking off from the blocks,” was sequel to the earlier passage of N169.6billion (N169,621,744,131) by the Anambra State House of Assembly last week.

Professor Soludo commended the legislators for the expeditious consideration and approval of the revised budget, assuring the people of the state that the budget would be judiciously and prudently implemented to improve critical infrastructure, particularly roads.

Professor Soludo also said that his request to secure a N100 billion global limit multiple term loan facility for the construction and refurbishment of key infrastructure in the state was approved by the state Assembly.

In an interview, the Speaker, Anambra State House of Assembly, Mr. Uchenna Okafor, expressed happiness with the assent to the bill, saying that the budget was well scrutinized, which ensured that more money was earmarked on prioritized key areas, including infrastructure, education and health .

The Speaker noted that the allocation was aimed at achieving the mission of the Soludo led administration in building a liveable and prosperous homeland

Earlier, the Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Miss Chiamaka Nnake, had expressed confidence and hope that assent to the bill by the Governor would enhance speedy development and enable government deliver the dividends of democracy to the people in keeping with the campaign promises.
