SEN KEN EZE NARRATES INTERVENTION FOR COMMUNICATION BASED FED AGENCIES

The Senate Committee Chairman on Information and National Orientation, Chief Kenneth Eze says 35 billion Naira has been released to the National Broadcasting Commission to reposition the broadcasting industry in Nigeria.

He stated this at Onueke in Ezza South Local Government Area while commenting on his representation at the upper legislative chamber and efforts by the Federal Government to solve the harsh economic realities facing the nation.

Senator Eze, who represents Ebonyi Central District, noted that some broadcasting organisations, including the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON) and Press Council hitherto removed from the 2024 budget, had been returned following his intervention.

He described as unfortunate that the Nigeria Television Authority and other broadcasting Organisations in the country still running terrestrial broadcasting.

The Senator noted that with the statement of thirty five billion Naira, the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) would roll out satellite packages for quality broadcasting in Nigeria.

The Senate Committee Chairman on Information pointed out that the measure would help to free spectrums to Nigerian Communications Commission for onward sale to the communication industries.

Senator Eze enumerated other key achievements in the Senate.

They include sponsoring a bill for an Act to establish Federal Polytechnic Onueke, a Bill for an Act to repeal and re-enact NBC Act 2024, a Bill for an Act to repeal and re-enact Nigerian Press Council Act 2024.

The Senator said he had distributed fertilizers to farmers and had two hundred and fifty million Naira medical outreach for his constituents.
