SECURITY FORCES DISLODGE CRIMINAL CAMP IN ANAMBRA AS GOV SOLUDO VISITS TROUBLED LGA

Anambra State Government says it has dislodged a criminal camp between Aguluezechukwu and Ogboji.

Gov. Chukwuma Soludo made this known when he visited Aguata Local Government Headquarters burnt by unknown gunmen on Thursday.

Radio Nigeria also gathered that the yet to be intensified gunmen attacked a cattle market in Igboukwu Community same Thursday and allegedly killed about 30 cows.

The Governor, who said the the camp of the criminal elements was dislodged by a combined security force on Thursday, believed that the criminals attacked the local government council while running for safety.

Prof. Soludo while stressing that intelligence gathering had it that the criminals had been operating from the camp for more than a year unhindered, expressed dismay that they had burnt places, kidnapped many, raped women and attacked innocent citizens.

The Governor, who commended the security agencies for their timely intervention, maintained that his administration was determined to restore peace and security in the area.

Prof. Soludo promised that he would continue to offer olive branch to all groups to come out and submit their arms.

He said government was ready to train and rehabilitate them to enable them to play critical role to the development of the state.

The Governor lamented that majority of the people pepertrating the ungodly act were mainly indigenes of other states.

The Governor maintained that the present administration was determined to stamp out all forms of crime, saying that the state is not a breeding ground for crime.
