REPORTER: UCHE NDEKE

Two goals from Samuel Pam gave Rangers International of Enugu victory over visiting Akwa United in the last game of the Nigeria Professional Football League match played at the Awka Township Stadium, Anambra State.

Rangers got their first goal in the 17th minute of the first half of the game.

Samuel Pam in the second half of the match also netted the second goal at the 74 minute of the game.

The two goals gave the Flying Antelopes the three maximum points, which ensured their victory over the visiting Akwa United.

Coach of Rangers International, Abdul Maikaba, said he would sit down with the technical team to discuss their challenges in the season and forge a new way for the team.

Akwa United Coach, Ayodeji Ayeni, told sports journalists in Awka that the two goals they conceived were due to lack of concentration but accepted that Rangers played better.

Coach Ayeni said the performance of his boys was average but expressed the hope that they would improve by the next season.

Radio Nigeria observed that sports lovers in Awka, the Anambra State capital trooped out en mass to watch the last match of the 2021/2022 NPFL season, as Awka Township Stadium was the home of Rangers for the season.

This followed the ongoing renovation of the pitch of Nnamdi Azikwe Stadium, Enugu.
