POLICE INVESTIGATE MURDER OF 17-YEAR-OLD GIRL IN ANAMBRA

The Commissioner of Police in Anambra State, Mr. Nnaghe Itam, has ordered immediate investigation into the gruesome murder of a 17-year-old girl suspected of being used for ritual purpose.

The girl’s lifeless body was found in a bush at Omasi village and was later identified as one Chinasa Adigwe from Umueje village in Ayamelum Local Government Area and her private parts were cut off before Police were alerted.

The Police Public Relations Officer of the command, Mr. Tochukwu Ikenga, in a statement, said the body had been recovered and deposited in a morgue.

The statement also added that the Police Commissioner while condoling with the family, friends and Community of the deceased stated that the Police would do everything possible to make sure that those behind the barbaric act were arrested and justice served.
