POLICE ARREST MAN WITH OVER 300 LIVE CARTRIDGES IN ONITSHA

Police operatives attached to Fegge Division, Anambra State have arrested one Felix Owaya for alleged illegal possession of live cartridges.

The 48-year-old suspect from Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State was arrested by the operatives while on patrol on Niger Street, Onitsha and recovered 375 live cartridges from him.

A statement from the Police Public Relations Officer, Tochukwu Ikenga, indicated that during interrogation, the suspect confessed that he was sent by one Charles Ogboma, to a man he is yet to mention to collect the ammunition.

The statement notee that investigation was still ongoing in the incident which occurred last weekend.

The statement said that the state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Nnaghe Obono Itam, while commending Police Officers who made the recovery for their vigilance, directed all personnel in the Command to sustain the tempo of crime prevention and detection in service of the people of the State.
