POLICE ARREST FIVE FOR VEHICLE THEFT IN EBONYI

Police in Ebonyi State have arrested one Okoro Daniel for stealing a Black Prado Sports Utility vehicle belonging to a customer who patronized a car wash at Abakaliki shopping mall.

A statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Joshua Ukandu explained that the suspect was traced to Mgbuka Obosi in Anambra State while attempting to sell the Jeep.

The statement further noted that Police also arrested one Praise Chukwudi, Chukwudi Onuagba, Solomon Godwin and Chidiebere Chidozie for conspiring to rob a Mercedes 300 car from one Kenneth Aluma at Ndufu Alike Ikwo at gunpoint.

The suspects were also alleged to have robbed a POS operator and made away with cash of six hundred and one thousand Naira as well as a phone.

The statement explained that the Mercedes car and two locally made guns were recovered from the suspects in Onitcha Local Government Area.

According to him, they will be arraigned in court after further investigation.
