NSCDC ARRESTS 21 YEAR OLD SUSPECT FOR VANDALISING RAILWAY SLIPPERS IN EBONYI, PARADES OTHERS

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has arrested a twenty-one year old man, Chibuike Aja, for allegedly vandalizing railway slippers at Ishiagu in Ivo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.

The Commandant of the Corps in the state, Mr. Terrumun Gbue, stated this while parading the suspect and four others at the Corps headquarters, Abakaliki.

Mr. Gbue noted that Chibuike Aja was arrested by the operatives of the corps while conveying the vandalized railway slippers on his motorcycle to a destination in Ishiagu.

The suspect, Chibuike, who claimed to be a commercial motorcyclist denied vandalizing the slippers but stated that he was contracted by a certain man to convey the railway slippers to a spot in Ishiagu.

Other suspects were arrested for conveying scrapped heavy duty frames and bars suspected to have been vandalized and stolen from their owner.

Items allegedly recovered from the suspects include railway slippers, a motorcycle, and two trucks laden with scrap metals.
