The statement explained that upon intercepting the suspected hoodlums around Umuode Village and exchanging gunfire, they were overpowered and took to flight, leaving behind a blood-stained sienna vehicle and a Toyota Highlander SUV with the corpse of an unidentified suspect.

The statement said, while the corpse of the gunman had been deposited at the morgue, investigation into the matter had already commenced.
