GOV OTTI EXTENDS JUDICIAL PANEL’S TIME TO COVER MORE GROUNDS

Some persons yet to respond to the invitation of the judicial panel of inquiry on the recovery of Government property, funds and related matters set up in Abia State are warned to comply before government’s action.

Governor Alex otti, who gave the warning after receiving reports of the judicial Panel, directed extension of time to enable the panel to address areas yet to be covered.

According to the Governor, since there are investigative petitions, more time should be given to the panel to cover such areas instead of abruptly terminating the job of the panel.

Governor Otti commended the chairman of the panel, Justice Florence Duruoha Igwe and her team for their efforts so far and assured them of proper implementation of their recommendations.

Submitting the three-volume report to the Governor earlier, the chairman, “Panel ofh Inquiry on Recovery of Government Property and Funds,” Justice Florence Duruoha –Igwe (retired), said the panel received 350 petitions and memoranda.

Justice Duruoha-Igwe explained who that the panel had 99 sittings and stressed that it was able to conclude on areas of their assignment such as markets, lands, employments, movable property, contracts and other related matters.

She appealed to the Governor to pay attention to the panel’s recommendations.
