FG BEGINS 250 HOUSING UNIT PROJECT IN EBONYI

The Federal Government has embarked on the construction of 250 Housing Units under the Renewed Hope Housing Programme in Ebonyi State.

At the ground breaking Ceremony at Omege Umuezekoha in Ezza North Local Government Area, the Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Mr. Ahmed Dangiwa explained that the 250 Units were part of 50,000 Housing Units to be delivered nationwide by President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

He noted that the project would include seven Renewed Hope Cities that would have between 500 and 1,000 housing units per site in each of the six geo political zones and the FCT.

The Minister emphasised that Ebonyi was among the second batch of states from South East and North Central zones to benefit from the project.

He noted that the units would be acquired through direct purchase or mortgage loan when completed.

Governor Francis Nwifuru, represented by his Deputy, Princess Patricia Obila, said the state government had demonstrated interest in the project by donating land.

He appealed to the Federal Government to ensure that residents of the state were given the right to first refusal for the acquisition of the housing units when completed.

The Chairman of Ezza North Local Government Area, Chief Ogodoali Nome, thanked the Federal and State Governments for the choice of the community for the project and assured it of adequate security for the project.

The project is made up of one bedroom semi detached bungalows, two bedroom semi detached bungalows and three bedroom semi detached bungalows.
