EMULATE YOUR PREDECESSORS ON NATIONAL SERVICE —UZODIMMA TELLS CORPS MEMBERS

Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State wants National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members posted to the state to imbibe the spirit of selflessness and continue to rekindle the hope of a better Nigeria.

He gave the charge in a message to the swearing in of members of the 2024 NYSC Batch B Stream II” corps members at Eziama-Obaire in Nkwerre Local Government Area of Imo State.

According to the Governor, the national youths service corps members have continued to deploy their skills and talents in the development of the state, hence the need for the newly mobilized youths to emulate their predecessors.

Governor Uzodimma, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Youths Development and Talent Hunt, Dr. Dorothy Mmirikwe, advised the Corps members to take advantage of the skill acquisition trainings lined up for the orientation to better their lots.

He added that his administration would continue to prioritize the welfare of youths.

The State Coordinator of the Scheme, Mrs. Rachel Idaewor, charged the corps members to promote national unity and appreciate the diverse culture of Nigeria.

Mrs. Idaewor, who called on the youth to acquaint themselves with the bye laws of the scheme, commended the state government for its assistance to the scheme.

A total of 1,272 corps members, comprising 565 males and 707 females, took the oath of allegiance.
