EID EL KABIR: OTTI FELICITATES MUSLIMS, CALLS FOR SACRIFICE

As Muslim faithful in Abia State join their counterpart across the country and the globe to celebrate this year’s Eid el Kabir, Governor Alex Otti has urged them to exhibit the spirit of sacrifice and selflessness according to the will of Allah.

A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Kazie Uko, said Governor Otti encouraged them to emulate the Prophet Ibrahim, who demonstrated loyalty and trust in his teachings.

The Governor, in the statement, congratulated the Muslim faithful for the opportunity to witness yet another Eid el Kabir, describing the occasion as very significant in Islamic calendar.

According to the statement, Muslims are expected to use the period to offer prayers for love, happiness, and unity.

It stressed the need for peaceful co-existence irrespective of tribe, religion and culture while pledging Abia State Government’s continued provision of enabling economic environment in the state.
