CONSTRUCTION OF MORE COURT HALLS COMMENCES IN ABIA

The construction of model court halls across the 17 local government areas of Abia State to enhance optimal service delivery of the judiciary in the state has commenced.

Performing the groundbreaking at the Umuene Magistrate Court, Isialangwa South Local Government Area, Governor Alex Otti said that the modern court buildings would be replicated across other councils of the state.

Governor Otti noted that the project was in fulfillment of his campaign promise to institute an operative judicial system in tune with the 21st century demands of judicial service delivery.

He pledged to work with the Judiciary and other stakeholders to figure an ecosystem where justice would prevail.

Earlier, the Chief Judge of Abia State, Justice Lilian Abai, described the official commencement of the construction of the the new court halls by the Governor as exceptional in the state judiciary, stressing that it would enhance productivity among judicial officers.

Justice Abai assured that the judiciary would uphold the rule of law.

In a separate interview, the Chairman NBA, Isialangwa Branch, Mr. Eze Nwaegoro and his Aba Branch counterpart, Charles Onuchukwu all thanked the Governor for the project and described the feat as a step in the right direction.
