ABIA WOMEN APPLAUD MRS TINUBU FOR N50,000 GRANT

Beneficiaries of Recapitalization Grants of the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, for 1000 Women Petty Traders in Abia State say the grants will improve their businesses and families.

Speaking with Radio Nigeria after receiving the fifty thousand naira grants in Umuahia, some of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Victoria Akujuobi, Mrs. Susan Okpoto, Mrs. Love Kanu and Ms Phoebe Ephraim, commended the First Lady for the intervention and appealed for sustenance of the gesture to overcome the current harsh economy in the country.

In her address, the First Lady Senator Tinubu, said the empowerment was part of the federal government’s initiative to drive economic growth towards a better life for families, mostly the petty traders.

Represented by the wife of the Chief of Staff to the President, Mrs. Salamatu Gbajabiamila, noted that the event was organized simultaneously across the country, including the Federal Capital Territory.

She said the Economic empowerment remained the core objective of the Renewed Hope Initiative of President Bola Tinubu and described women as the foundation of communities and silent heroes of the society.

Earlier, Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, represented by his Deputy, Mr. Ikechukwu Emetu, thanked the federal government for its vision and support.

He said the initiative demonstrated the shared commitment of empowering women and promoting economic growth and peace in the society.

Governor Otti encouraged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the grants and inspire others through their success and resilience.

For her part, the state Coordinator of the programme and wife of the state governor, Mrs. Priscilla Otti, expressed gratitude to the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, for her continued support and interventions in life of Nigerian women.

She pledged that every intervention of the federal government would get to the intended recipients both in the rural and urban areas.
