REPORTER: AMECHI ODO

Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State has reiterated his administration’s resolve to sustain the provision of adequate security and welfare needs for corps members deployed to the state for their service year.

He made the promise at the swearing in ceremony of 2024 Batch B Stream 2 Corps members at NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp Afikpo.

Represented by the State Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Mr. Richard Idike, the Governor charged the Corps members to brace up and contribute their quota to the development of various sectors of the state.

The State Coordinator of NYSC, Mrs. Oladeinde Folunke, called on the Corps members to make extra efforts to surpass the achievement of their predecessors in community development.

She urged them to take every aspect of the orientation course very seriously, especially the NYSC Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development Programme so as to acquire skills before the end of the service year.

1,315 youth corps members were sworn in by Justice Emmanuel Ogbunnefi.
