REPORTER: UCHE NDEKE

The Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, Mr. Somtochukwu Udeze, has paid glowing tributes to the founding fathers of the state, including past and present Governors for their service and genuine commitment towards the peace, unity and development of the area.

In a goodwill message to the government and people of Anambra State as it marks 33rd anniversary, Mr. Udeze noted that despite the difficult economic realities facing the country, which had affected the finances of states, the present administration of Governor Chukwuma Soludo had continued to address the challenges by recording giant strides in all sectors of the economy and also improving the living standard of the citizenry.

He highlighted massive road infrastructure, improved health care delivery, employment opportunities, improved security architecture, youth empowerments, agricultural revolution, improved environmental and urban regeneration and general welfare of residents among prominent gains of the Governor Soludo led administration.

The Speaker called on affluent citizens, especially captains of industry in the state, to partner Governor Soludo in his efforts to boost industrial revolution in the state in line with the Governor’s think home philosophy and also contribute to the security of the area.

While congratulating the people as they celebrate 33 years of creation of the state, the Speaker paid special tributes to those who continued to make the state proud in their different fields, including politics, sports, arts, academia, business and philanthropy, noting that the state Legislature under his watch was committed to contributing meaningfully towards its overall development.

In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Emmanuel Mmadu, the Speaker enjoined residents of the state to pray for the peace and progress of the area and for the founding fathers, especially those who are still alive.
