SOLUDO INAUGURATES ANSIEC, INSISTS ON DATE FOR LG POLLS

Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has inaugurated the Anambra State Independent Electoral Commission (ANSIEC).

During the ceremony at Governor’s Lodge Amawbia, Governor Soludo stressed that members of the commission were called to perform an arduous task, of conducting local government election in the state.

The Anambra State Governor remarked that the conduct of a local government election was a major promise he made to the people of the state when he was inaugurated and charged the commission to expedite action and set a date for the conduct of local government election.

For her part, the ANSIEC Chairman, Mrs. Chinelo Osakwe, thanked the Governor for the opportunity to serve and expressed optimism that the committee would deliver on the assignment.

The inauguration came after more than ten years since the last local government election was conducted in the state.
