SOUTH EAST GOVERNORS TO TACKLE SECURITY AND ECONOMIC CHALLENGES IN THE ZONE.
Southeast Governors have expressed commitment towards tackling the environmental, security and economic challenges bedevilling the zone.
The Chairman, Southeast Governors’ Forum, and Governor of Ebonyi State, Chief David Umahi made this known while briefing journalists on the outcome of their meeting held behind closed door at Government house, Enugu. Chief Umahi said that abandonment of Federal Government projects like some water dams in the zone had necessitated the move to meet appropriate bodies concerned to ensure its completion.
Following the resolution of the last meeting of the Southeast Governors to synergize and champion a course towards economic integration, Chief Umahi revealed that the forum had appointed two persons each from the states in the zone as members of a committee to draft a blueprint for the programme. He however used the medium to comment on the fire incident at the Ebonyi State Government house, where he debunked media reports that it was a fire disaster. Governors of Imo, Anambra and Enugu States were present at the meeting.
