The Zonal Director, Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN South East Zonal Station, Enugu, Mr. Ike Okere has called for the sustenance of the existing cordial relationship between Radio Nigeria Pacesetter FM Umuahia and the host community, Amakama in Umuahia South Local Government Area of Abia State.
Mr. Okere made the call at the Palace of the Traditional Ruler of Alaoji- Amakama Umuahia Community, Eze Dan Okezie.
The Zonal Director observed that meaningful development could only be achieved in an atmosphere of peace and commended the people of Amakama for their friendly disposition to Pacesetter FM which they demonstrated during the fire incident at the station last year.
Mr. Okere said the station was quickly repaired after the fire outbreak to ensure that residents of the state continue to enjoy the best of radio broadcasting. Responding, the Traditional Ruler of Alaoji- Amakama Community, Eze Dan Okezie described Pacesetter FM as credible and professional driven broadcast medium which had impacted meaningfully on the lives of the people.
Eze Okezie lauded the Zonal Director for the resilience demonstrated in resuscitating the station and pledged that the community would give the Acting General Manager of Pacesetter FM, Mrs. Onyinye Onuoha, the needed support to steer the station to greater heights.
The Zonal Director, FRCN Enugu Zonal Station, Mr. Ike Okere was accompanied on the visit by Mrs. Onuoha.
