NATIONAL ASSEMBLY URGED TO PASS THE 2017 APPROPRIATION BILL

seneteAs the National assembly resumes Tuesday for legislative functions after the Easter break, a constitutional lawyer, Dr. Godstime Okafor wants the lawmakers to work towards passing the 2017 budget. Dr Okafor expressed the belief that the passage of the budget would help ease the economic difficulties in the country as some projects would be executed.

“The cost of living is skyrocketing on a daily basis, the poor man is crying, there is high rate of crime, there is high rate of suicide because the budget has not been passed. There is no implementation of any thing. The question is where do we go from here?”

Dr. Okafor also appealed to the federal legislative and executive arms of government to resolve their rift amicably for the progress of the nation.

“Let them for the interest of our children work together, let each of the have a stand so that the executive now say okay now consider the grieviance of the legislature then the legislature do the same thing.”

The constitutional lawyer commend President Mohammadu Buhari for asking the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to account for all the looted funds it had so far recovered.
