IMO STATE GOVERNMENT TO DEMOLISH MORE BUILDINGS IN OWERRI

imo govGovernor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State has appealed to residents of the area to see the ongoing demolitions arising from massive road expansion in Owerri as a sacrifice towards ensuring a better society.

He made the appeal at a forum organized by members of the Bar and Bench in Owerri.

Governor Okorocha however expressed satisfaction with the level of co-operation he had received so far from owners of property affected by the expansion of bank road in the State capital.

The Governor hinted that bulldozers would be moved soon to the ever busy Douglas road in Owerri to restore sanity in the area.

Governor Okorocha reiterated the determination of his administration to complete all ongoing road projects aimed at renewing the face of the State capital.

The reaction from the Governor followed criticisms by some residents of the state over the destruction of property, especially when work was yet to be completed on those earlier demolished in Owerri- Orlu road.
