Reporter :  CHINAZO ILECHUKWU

A group under the aegis of Coalition of Okigwe Youths have vowed to resist any attempt by institutions or individuals, no matter how highly placed, to subvert the will of the people in the December 5 Imo North Senatorial District bye-election.

Addressing a news conference in Owerri, the Coordinator of the group, Comrade Chiedozie Ibekwe, said youths in the constituency were ready to change the narratives in the area.

Comrade Ibekwe lamented that Imo North was confronted with lack of infrastructure and basic amenities, noting that the forthcoming election would be the time for the district to choose a credible representative in the red chambers.

Comrade Ibekwe stated that the youth had carried out sensitization of the electorate to avoid vote buying and selling and called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to ensure free, fair and credible poll.
