EBONYI STATE TO SECURE ₦1Bn LOAN FOR CASSAVA FARMERS
Ebonyi State government is to secure one billion naira loan for cassava farming and processing in the state. Governor David Umahi stated this at a meeting with Cassave farmers, Public and Civil servants in Abakaliki.
Chief Umahi explained that twenty five thousand Public and Civil servants were being targeted in the Cassava Programme and would be given one hundred thousand naira each to cultivate the crop.
He also emphasized that more rice mills would be procured and installed in all local government areas of the state to enhance rice production in the state. The Chairman, Nigeria Cassava Growers Association in the State, Mr. Ogbonnaya Njoku said with necessary supports, farmers in the state would be producing twenty five tones per hectare of cassava.
