60 YEAR OLD MAN ARRESTED FOR ALLEGED RAPE OF A MINOR

A sixty year old man, Simon Alobu has been handed over to the police by the Ebonyi State Family Law Center for allegedly hypnotizing and repeatedly raping a seven year old girl in Akpuoha Afikpo North Local Government Area of the state. The man was reported to the center by the girl’s aunt who alleged that the man also raped her when she was a little girl.

Investigations reveal that little Miss Favour moved to her maternal house where her aunt lives following the death of her parents and was reaped for the first time in 2014 by Alobu. Her aunt, Martha said she became aware of Favour’s condition after she complained of pains in her private part.

According to her, Favour was taken to a Hospital in Afikpo where the rape was confirmed while efforts to make her reveal the identity of the rapist failed, thus making the act to continue till 2017. Madam Martha alleged that it was discovered that the suspected rapist lacerated Favour’s bottom with razor blade where he presumably applied some charms to stop the girl from revealing his identity.

The suspect, Alobu confessed to have had the carnal knowledge of the girl but said he was under the influence of alcohol. Alobu however denied that he also raped Favour’s aunt when she was tender.

After listening to the case, the Presiding Officer of the Family Law Center, Mrs Eunice Nwali invited the police to arrest the man with a promise to follow up the matter to a logical conclusion.
