SOLUDO SENDS LIST OF LG TRANSITION COMMISSION MEMBERS TO ASSEMBLY

Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo has forwarded to State House of Assembly a list of nominees to serve as chairmen and members of Transition Committees for the 21 Local Government Areas of f the state.

In a letter dated June 19, 2024, the Governor pleaded with the lawmakers to consider and approve the nominees to take charge of the third tier of government for the period of three months.

The Governor said the letter was in pursuance to the provision of section 208 (2) of the Local Government overnment law, 1999 amended number 6, law of 2012.

The Speaker of the House, Mr. Somtochukwu Udeze, who read the letter during plenary, referred the nominees to the Committee on Screening for them to report back in the next adjourned date.

The Chairman of the Committee and member representing Awka South Constituency II, Mr. Chukwuma Okoye, thanked the Speaker for giving them the opportunity, with a promise to do the needful before the next adjourned date.
